When we grow up, places and things that belong to our childhood become small. But this doesn’t mean that the memories from the past become insignificant. Back home makes us feel as kids again.

Natalia Chernyshev was born in 1984 in Sverdlovsk, Russia. She graduated at the State Academy of Architecture and Art of the Ural in graphic design and animation. She has worked on various animation projects as animator, decorator and character designer. In 2012, she directed the short film “Snowflake”, which marks her directorial debut and which she uses to win prizes in Berlin, Chicago, Sofia, Meknes, Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Vancouver and Geneva. The same year he entered Powder, where he directed the films “The Return” (2013) and his graduation film “Two Friends” (2014), awarded in Dresden, Dublin, Hiroshima, Tokyo and Krok. In October 2014, she participated in the editorial residence of the Abbey of Fontevraud where she began the script of a new project: “Spider Web”, which ended up winning several awards such as the Hiroshima Film Festival, the Tokyo Animation Festival SCHLINGEL International Film Festival. From 2017 to 2018, she participated in the “Leaving School” program in Lille and directed the movie “The Lost Garden” after creating the poem of the same name by Claude Roy.
