Sinopsi

A kid from an African village receives a letter. In it there’s a paper snowflake. The wishes of the kid become true and t whole landscape changes. Zebras, giraffes and monkeys are going to face the snow and the winter.

Natalia Chernyshev was born in 1984 in Sverdlovsk, Russia. She graduated in graphic design and animation at Architecture and Art Academy of Ural. She has also worked in several animation projects as animator, decorator and character designers. In 2012, she directed the short film “Snowflake”, that marked her debut as director and with whom won awards in Berlin, Chicago, Sofia, Meknes, Moscow, San Petersburg, Vancouver and Geneva.
In the same year she entered at Powder, where she directed “The Return (2013) and her graduation film “Two Friends” (2014), awarded in Dresde, Dublin, Hiroshima, Tokio and Krok.
In October of 2014, she participated in the redaction residence of Avadia of Fontevraud where she started the screenwriting of a new project: “Spider Web”, that won some prizes as the one in Hiroshima Festival, Animation of Tokio or the international film festival of Schlingel. Between 2017 and 2018, she participated in the programme “Leaving School” in Lille and directed the movie “The Lost Garden” after create the poem, with the same name, by Claude Roy.
